Go ahead make my day

There is a tug of war going on between Bush and Congress on who will be the last man standing on the Iraq War debate. While Bush is asking for another 96 BILLION in new money for Iraq and Afghanistan. I find it mind boggling why their is even a fight on this matter. Bush should sign the bill proposed for a pull-out date and let our troops come home. With troops now being extended *cough* again and again and troops getting deployed early to "help" combat the flair ups doesn't Bush see their is NO VICTORY in Iraq. Does Bush not realize that America is getting fed up with this administration and their distasteful tactics in Iraq. I guess it is going to take a slap on his face to make Bush finally wake-up and see that nobody is supporting him and his war.  I will proudly sit by and support/encourage anything brought to the table by Congress to cut off funding Iraq and bring our troops home. And before I get 100+ emails about how cutting off funding will lead to our troops not having what they need to fight in Iraq-THEY ALREADY DON'T HAVE WHAT THEY NEED TO FIGHT IN IRAQ!
So please come at me with a different stance then that-Thank you.

Like many other wives and parents I will be anxiously awaiting to see what happens with this new push from Congress to get a withdrawl date and FINALLY bring our troops home. It is sort of like taunting a child with a new toy. Saying here have this toy and then ripping it out their hands and saying nah I was kidding. Then handing it to them again and saying ok here you go you can have this toy. Then ripping it from them again and saying just kidding. You would find that a little cruel wouldn't you? Well that is how I and many other wives feel about what Bush and Congress do with our soldiers and their lives. It is a life of pure turmoil and hell for our soldiers and for us back at home actually supporting the troops.
And no supporting our troops is not slapping a fucking yellow ribbon on your car and driving around saying I support our troops. That is a lame ass way to show you support them, a easy way for you to think your supporting them. But then just carry on with you day to day life not worried about if a soldier returns home to his wife and child. Or comes home half mangled and can not work anymore. Will you then support this soldier and his family? Things to think about when words like I support the troops come out your mouth. And while you sit there and maybe get mad that in the same breath I type this I am according to you bashing the troops do not forget I am here on the home frontlines doing the actual supporting. Like I have mentioned time and time again, you can honestly NOT SUPPORT the Iraq war but SUPPORT the troops. Please feel free to click on the button on my side bar and read how this can be done.

I can only hope and pray that this will be the finale deployment to Iraq for my soldier. That when he deploys this year we find out the troops are coming home in 2008. And we don't have to worry about him going back.

Ok I said more then I wanted to. But heck these are my thoughts and my feelings right. And that is why I have this blog for 4 years now.

Thank you for kindly gracing my page. If I got you a little upset, ask yourself why? And if I got you excited ask yourself why?

God Bless

It's just a random post...

Well this is a just random entry for me this morning. I am about to head to Starbucks and ScrapHeaven. A new scrapbook store that opened over by Starbucks and Costco.
I went and checked it out last week and I LOVED it!
So I'm heading over there this morning to grab some new papers-stickers-and a couple themed packages of the beach. Since we have been taking the kids quite often to the North Shore to boggie board I thought I would start a mini-book of their times with daddy. That way when he deploys they can look though it and remember all the fun times they had with him. I have some wonderful pitures of them too. Plus I think I will make doubles of the pictures and let them make their own. Get those creative jiuces flowing.
Yesterday we were out with the kids. We stopped by the Fun Factory and let them use their VIP cards on some games. Stopped and had ice cream. Went to Wally World and bought a new trampoline for the backyard. Hubby bought a new dart-board. I got some new flowers and a new bbq. We're going to have some cook-outs with my hubby's soldiers and their wives before the guys deploy so I am attempting to make our backyard a nice place to hang out. Not only for us adults but the kids also.
Since we started our own FRG within my hubby's section{long story}. We have 23 soldiers and half with wives/kids. So this could get interesting. LOL. But hey who said I wasn't up for the challenge. I love helping people so doing our own FRG is great for me. I took the FRG leadership classes in Germany and have my certificates, so I am ready. I get to keep the single soldiers families in the loop, the wives to remain calm and informed and just be here if anyone needs anything while their soldier is deployed. And since we have about 10 of these soldier/wives that have not been through a deployment, well they will have tons of questions and want answers. So these cook-outs will be a great way to bring us all together and build the support system before the guys leave for a year! Hence me fixing up the backyard and getting it ready.

Okay well not a lot of time this morning to blog. But I will tomorrow. Since our wonderful President FINALLY decided to go to Walter Reed and see what all the fuse about and*cough* have a photo opt. But hell he already knew our soldiers we're not getting adequate treatment. But that is for tomorrrow's blog.

Aloha Saturday. I hope this day finds you in good spirits.
And if your soldier is deployed you will get to hear his voice today.
God Bless

Just Added come take a peek

I just added a ton of military spouse links to my site.
They are located on the bottom of my side bar all the way at the end.
Some of the sites are for the newbie military spouses, and some sites are just good to browse for staying connected to your soldier during deployment and ideas etc etc.

Aloha

TimeLine for Iraq? Can this be true-NOT!

On Thursday Senate Democrats presented a bill that passed 50-48 to begin bringing our troops home by March 2008. Now it goes to Bush to sign off on it. But according to our wonderful President he said he will veto everything that comes to him about a timeline for Iraq.

How can he make such bold statements as that?  Does he really think his balls are big enough to just sit there and say hey oh here is a Bill that will bring our troops home next year because this is what the american people want, the congress wants ah fuck that I am going to veto it. Next!

Because why would this President want to do the only good thing he has done while serving the public, bringing our troops home! Oh I remember he has too many interests in Iraq to pull out and FINALLY bring our troops home. Troops can die at any costs to ensure a victory in Iraq. I remember now. Our troops were put into Iraq for one man's war and now when Bush vetos this bill, we can FINALLY say warmonger(which those that do not know what this is here you go-someone who is anxious to encourage a people or nation to go to war. Someone that also has selfish motives for going to war or likes war.) Now tell me once Bush vetos this Bill he is not a warmonger? And if you believe in this President and the way he is keeping our troops in Iraq you should get informed. Especially if you have a loved one deloyed or preparing to deploy. This veto is a smack in your face as a follower to Bush. And I am so glad to be on the other side of that.

Please if you have not gotten informed about what is going in Iraq-DO IT! If your soldier is active military attempt to inform yourself so that you know what is going on so that you can let your voice be heard. So that you do not support this war any longer and help bring our troops home.

Here are a few links I am sharing with you to read in full detail about this Bill. And FYI Bush will ttry to spin this and try to blame the Dems etc etc but we all know the one to blame iwill be BUSH himself for vetoing this Bill!

Now go get informed-

USA TODAY LINK

MSNBC LINK

CNN LINK

all three links will take you to the story.
Also make sure to follow the Gonzales story, it will get bigger over the next few months to come. Can BUSH do anything right?

BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW!

Whoa where has the time gone?

I see depsite my absence from blogging about the Iraq War it continues to press on. With more troops dying in Iraq than ever. Will this madness ever come to an end before Bush is out of office? I think not. No matter what lies and cover-ups happen Bush is still leading this country and still leading this pointless war in Iraq.
Since I now have a deployment date and know when my soldier will returning, I will be blogging once again on MY FEELINGS and MY OPINIONS on deployment-war-Bush-military life.

So with that said, if you can't handle yourself in a proper matter while coming to visit me and my thoughts please take yourself somewhere else.

As you can see from my side bars I am not a supporter of this war. I support our troops and my soldier. I am not a gung-ho Bush lover and supporter either.

I took a break from this blog because I was getting fustrated with blogging about Bringing Our Troops Home and nothing being done to get them here from the people who can bring them home. But in doing that I have not been keeping my small voice heard and out there for everyone to hear/read.

So I welcome myself back. If you followed me before great, I hope you continue to follow me. If I lost you as a reader, well I am truly sorry. Maybe this blog was not meant to be for you to follow.

If you ready, then let's get blogging!

God Bless

Mississippi???

How is this for a twist, my soldier asks me "babe what do you think of me being a recruiter?" I was not sure how I should answer him. Did he want to be excited, so he could be exicted. Did he want me to say ARE YOU KIDDING ME, which is what I wanted to say. Or was he just looking to see where I stood with the whole thing. Of course he wanted to know where I stood with the whole recruiting thing. So I told him. And after we talked a bit about WHY he would even consider this as an option, I think when his window opens next year, he will be seeing if any recruiting positions are open down South. Yes, you are reading it right down South he is hoping something is open in Mississippi. This would be my soldiers hometown. Born and raised. Now wanting to go back and live for a few years and see if he likes living their as an adult. Said it would be good for the kids. It is not fast paced go-go-go- like in Washington. That I we would love the country. I said you do not have to sell me on the idea. If we can go live down South for a few years and like it, then we will buy land and stay. If not then we move unto another duty station. Simple as that. So no Alaska like I has hoped and no Ft.Lewis like had I hoped. Now we are researching homes in MS and schools in MS. Does anyone reading this blog have an input about MS? If so sound off at the end of the blog and let me know ;-)

I am still letting this new news about becoming a recruiter set in. We get something in place and I think that is the plan, then my soldier comes home and BAM it is something else. But I geuss like the military the news is always changing.

I will update as I get updates on our adventures of maybe moving to Missisippi. I will be a city girl living in the country. We shall see how that goes!

Aloha, have a wonderful and safe fourth of July.

So angry and nothing seems to help

My husband just returned from a funeral. He buried his sister. He was not sure how to handle the whole situation. He still does not really talk too much about it. Is he keeping it inside? Does he just want to deal with his emotions himself? Is this something the military has taught him? Handle it on your own soldier, fight for us but handle anything else on your own. I would hope this is not the reason to my husband not wanting to speak about his feelings on his sisters death.
But this gets me to the point of me being so angry that nothing seems to help. I watched a documentary called: Uncovered-The War on Iraq. It was a controversial documentary which takes you behind the walls of the U.S government as CIA, Pentagon and Foreign Service experts address the government's reasons for launching the "preemptive" war on Iraq 2003. This viedo got me angry. I am already angry that we talk about impeaching Bush, that we have all this evidence to the cover-ups and betrayals but yet we sit back and let Bush be our commander in chief. WHY? In this particular viedo you learn of the Neo-Cons(if you do not know who these people are-KNOW THEM)you learn about PNAC(Project for a New Century(learn this also). PNAC will be a sweeping movement that future Presidents that will be coming into office could be the puppets for.
I kept asking myself like I have been asking the past three years, why the hell is Goerge.W Bush in office? This makes me so angry that nothing seems to help.
We have all this information out there now three years after the fact we invaded Iraq, and yet NOTHING gets done to put a stop to this madness.
2,500 soldiers dead. More then 18,000 wounded. WHY????
I think to myself does the average American(other then the 60 million plus that already know)what is really behind invading Iraq? Do they just blindly follow our President and not seek out the truth for themselves. Isn't this what we are suspose to do. Question the government, question why our leader sent our husbands to war. The government does not have our best intrest in mind, but their own.
Watching this viedo for more than an hour and half I found myself getting more and more angry, I started even talking back to the t.v. I have to let my soldier go back to this country. Maybe die for this other country. To have a FREE IRAQ. I am so outraged by my soldiers looming date of deployment. It taunts me. It gives me sleepless nights. It consumes my everyday functions. Watching video's like these, which I have watched too many only makes me want to stand on rooftops and shout "WAKE UP AMERICA YOU ARE NOT THIS DUMB!" When will our troops come home?
But I am only one small voice in the bigger picture of things. And I just keep plugging along, doing what I can to make Americans aware of what they voted into office. Remember you voted for Bush, I didn't!

Memorial Day 2006

Tomorrow being Memorial Day last night my soldier and I sat down and watched a good three hours of documentaries on Marines and US Army Soldiers that have been to Iraq. Some came home and some did not make it. We watched a documentary on Marines from Lima Co(OHIO). They lost so many Marines(23).All just last year May 2005. Most to bombs and insurgents. I know I felt my blood boiling watching the Marines actually die in a fight with insurgents or driving their tanks and getting blown up. WHY? All the footage shown was shot by the Marines themselves with their own cameras and equipment. They would then show viedos of the familes. The moms and dads, wives, friends back home. It was very very sad. One mother went out to get her 18 year old fresh out of high school Marine stuff for his care package, when she arrived home and walked to her door Marines were waiting for her. To tell her that her son would not be coming home. He died in a gun battle by the Syria border. WHY?

Because our President wanted and got his war with Iraq. To topple Saddam and not really go to war with Iraq for what he lead the American public to believe. To send troops by the thousands over to a country that already has been dominated by insurgents and death. Three years after sending troops into Iraq we still have thousands of our troops on the ground. Dying and being wounded. WHY? Bin Ladden is still out there planning terrorist attacks. He has not been found yet, he is the real mastermind. The one that should be toppled. The one we should have caught way before we set our sites on Saddam. But our President said Mission Accomplished but if the mission is accomplished WHY do we have troops by the thousands in Iraq still? I was reminded last night watching these documentaries how upset being in Iraq makes me. How angry I become knowing troops are dying at an alarming rate and being wounded by the thousands. WHY? So many unanswered questions. Questions we will never get answers to.

During one of these shows I felt my husband grab my hand. I felt a little squueze. Was he telling me thank you for what I went through when the war broke out. Or was he telling me I am glad I made it home to you, to the kids. I was not sure what the hand squeeze meant, but I know it meant something. And when all the shows were finished and we stood up he embraced me. Not our normal hug and I love you. This was like the embrace I recieved when I saw my soldier for the first time after 18 months of being apart. Then he just looked into my eyes, and I knew. Tears welled up in his eyes. He only said thank you!

While laying in bed last night(of course I could not sleep) all kinds of thoughts flooded my mind. Have I forgotten what is it like to have your soldier in war. To not know if he will make it home to you or not. To be sitting and waiting for an email, a phone call, a letter, anything that let's you know he is okay and SAFE. I think I have forgotten. I got comfortable having my own soldier home, that I have sorta forgotten how it is for all the wives and moms still out there with soldiers deployed. Mine is home for now safe. But so many soldiers are not home. Not safe. Like the American people still not OUTRAGED that we lose soldiers everyday to this stupid pointless war in Iraq. That is destroying lives and riping families apart. Have they started to forget?

I apologize to anyone out there that has a soldier deployed. I know your pain. I know your longing to have them home. I know the anger late at night when you think nobody cares if your soldier makes it home to you or not. I know the gut wrenching pain you feel when you hear a soldier died and you pray to God your glad it was not your soldier.
Tomorrow being Memorial Day my heart aches for any mother-father-sister-brother-wife or friend that has lost a soldier to the Iraq War. For some of you it is an honor they died for their country and for others is brings nothing but ANGER. If I can only do one thing by having my blog and having you reading it right now that would be to just not go with the flow. Support our troops, yes never stop doing that. But let's just do something as Americans as a HUGE power to BRING THEM HOME. So that the next Memorial Day we are not honoring another 3000 soldiers lives lost to the Iraq War.

May you know that I do not support this war, I always support our troops!
God Bless-Bree

it's a day to honor......

~!*Happy Mother's Day*!~
Not just today but everyday should be spent honoring our mothers. Make sure every now and then you tell your mom what a wonderful job she is doing or has done, how proud you are of her, how special she is to you, she is a queen. Mom's like wives or girlfriends LOVE hearing how important they are to you. So  every now and then show her you care. Don't just wait for one time of the year to send your best ;-)
I dedicate this entry to all you moms out there! You are all special and make this world a better place.
Aloha-Hugs

V for Vendetta....

This is a MUST see movie. I am HIGHLY recommending it to all soldiers, wives of soldiers, parents, sisters, brothers, cousins and anyone eles intrested in politics the way they should be being handled. BY US the people not by our GOVERNEMENT.

Watching this movie last night made me realize even more how much our own government has taken CONTROL and basically keeps us QUIET and in FEAR of what is to come. There are so many things they brought to this movie that is dealing with what is happening RIGHT NOW with our own Administrations tactics and schemes to keep us in fear. Please if you can rent-buy or go watch V for Vendetta GO DO IT!!!!!!!!

And once you have watched it, please come back and sound off so I can hear your thoughts of this flim.

Below I posted pretty much what the movie is about without giving away too much ;-) Enjoy!

We felt the novel was very prescient to how the political climate is at the moment. It really showed what can happen when society is ruled by government, rather than the government being run as a voice of the people. I don't think it's such a big leap to say that things like that can happen when leaders stop listening to the people-Director James McTeigue

With the intention of making the film relevant to today's audience, the filmmakers included many modern day references as well. For example, the culture of fear montage of news stories ordered by Sutler contains references to an avian flu pandemic. As well there is pervasive use of biometric identification, as well as signal-intelligence gathering and analysis by the regime. Many have also noted the numerous references in the film to the current American administration. These include the "black bags" worn by the prisoners in Larkhill that have been seen as a reference to the black bags worn by prisoners at Abu Ghraib in Iraq and Guantánamo Bay in Cuba. Also London is under a yellow-coded curfew alert, which is similar to the US Government's color-coded Homeland Security Advisory System. One of the forbidden items in Gordon's secret basement is a protest poster with a mixed US–UK flag with a swastika and the title "Coalition of the Willing, To Power." This is likely a reference to the real Coalition of the Willing that was formed for the Iraq War.(At the same time, it also appears to be a reference to Friedrich Nietzsche's concept of Will to Power). As well, there is frequent mention of "rendition" in the film. There is even a brief scene (during the Valerie flashback) containing real-life footage of a anti-Iraq war demonstration, with mention of President George W. Bush. Finally, the film contains reference's to "America's war" and "the war America started" as well as real footage from the Iraq War.

Much of the modern US imagery can be personified in the character Lewis Prothero. Prothero's combat record seems to be an allusion to the current war in Iraq and other potential regions of conflict in the Middle-East ("Iraq, Kurdistan, Syria, before and after...")As the talk show host "The Voice of London" Lewis can be seen evoking the image of conservative American pundits like Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh, (particularly with Limbaugh and Prothero's drug use).Furthermore, with his rhetoric about God, gays, and Muslims, Prothero is likely to be a caricature of religious right-wing commentators like Pat Robertson. (Prothero mentions that the US itself has collapsed due to "Godlessness").

Despite the American specific references, the filmmakers have always referred to the film as adding dialogue to much broader set of issues than the US administration. When James McTeigue was asked whether or not BTN was based on Fox News McTeigue replied, "Yes. But not just Fox. Everyone is complicit in this kind of stuff. It could just as well been the Britain's Sky News Channel."
